This Saturday, September 14th at 10 a.m., there will be a Ribbon Cutting and Grand Re-Opening of the Coach J.J. Jones Memorial Park at 312 Floral Street in Greeneville. With Greeneville Parks & Recreation and the George Clem Multicultural Alliance, the Town of Greeneville will be revealing a new playground, swings, new basketball goals and fencing, as well as repaved courts. These upgrades offer a fresh new look while providing a safe and fun place for the community to play.
Speakers at the ribbon cutting ceremony include Mayor Cal Doty, City Manager, Todd Smith, Parks & Recreation board member, Don Hamilton, and Bill Edmonds representing the George Clem Multicultural Alliance.
After the ceremony, there will be a Free Basketball Camp hosted by the Greeneville Police Department and Coach Damon Johnson and friends. Coach Johnson is from Johnson City and has played professional basketball in Iceland and Spain. He has coached for King University, East Tennessee State's women's team, and most recently, Providence Academy.
There will be FREE pizza and drinks for camp attendees. Attendees can bring a basketball with them, but there will also be basketballs on-hand at the park.
