Criminal Investigation Division
This division is responsible for the Greeneville Police Department's investigative functions and comprises a Lieutenant, Sergeant, 6 Detectives, and an Evidence Technician. These officers are specially trained in investigative services, including death investigations, crime scene processing, interview/interrogation, and evidence preparation and storage. Our detectives are on call 24 hours a day/7 days a week for any major crime that occurs in our City. This division is under the direct supervision of Lt. John Bishop and Sgt. Stacy Hobbs. The CID division reports to Captain Tim Davis of the Administrative Staff. After a crime is reported to the Greeneville Police Department, the initial report will be forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Division and assigned to a detective if circumstances require a follow-up investigation. In addition, CID gathers intelligence information on criminal activities and aids patrol officers in these matters. CID also assists the district attorney general's office in prosecuting criminal cases. If you have questions for CID, contact Lt. Bishop at jbishop@greenevillepd.org or Sgt. Hobbs at shobbs@greenevillepd.org.
CID recently created a Facebook page. This page was created to allow the public to assist in identifying persons of interest, suspects, and witnesses to crimes. The page will also share police related happenings in our community. The police department wants to thank the community for the help you give us, if we are to make a difference, we have to work together as a team!
