The Greeneville Police Department K-9 unit currently consists of 3 officer / K-9 teams. Kojak patrols with Sgt. Shawn Hinkle, Pasa patrols with Officer Larry Gilbert, and ECHO patrols with Officer Derek Casteel. The K-9's are Malinois trained in narcotics detection, tracking, and patrol. Specifically, they are trained to detect methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin. The Officer and K-9 form a strong bond due to the numerous hours spent together both on- and off-duty.
